Yanagisawa 901 Soprano Saxophone
Guest
on November 15, 2007Tyree,
As we discussed on Thursday this is a great use for your lighting cube. Good job of placing the highlights to describe the highly reflective surface and to emphasize the pearl surface of the keys. One very minor suggestion - I would have cloned out the black reflection of the camera position at the bottom of the saxophone.
I also really like the shot against the black background. In fact, I think for the most part, it is stronger because of the added drama. The only problem is that the flaring at the sound end is not well defined because of the black reflecting into it. The only solution because of the angle of incidence thing would have been to put a couple of white cards under the sax to define the flare and then combine the two images in Photoshop to remove the cards which would have to be in the frame.
Excellent effort.
