These images were taken at the Canon Captures Catalina workshop on 9.30.07. Canon provided workshops with some of their best and brightest. Eddie Tapp and Greg Gorman were two of Canon’s “Explorer of Light” photographers giving instruction at the event. Anyone attending the event could rent, free of charge, any Canon camera body, lens, flash or accessory. It was a great opportunity to try a lot of different equipment, especially lenses for me. The workshop included breakfast, lunch and transportation to and from Catalina; all for $100. Kudos to Canon for hosting such a wonderful event!
Riley Kern
Riley Kern was photographed in the outdoor studio set up by Greg Gorman. Greg took a meter reading of Riley and gave us ISO, aperture and shutter speed settings to start with. They were ISO100 f6.3, 1/125. Here I chose to use my own settings of ISO100, f6.3, 1/400. I felt the lens was open too long at 1/125th of a second.
